Ok, so Evanovich will never be considered literary. But when I need a "mind break" and some humor in my life, I love to give her a read. And face it What woman would not want the dark and brave Ranger to show up with the simple word, "BABE" and keep her safe from all "bad guys?" And what woman wouldn't want the dependable, human, real, Manelli with whom to be forever engaged? Always silly, never real, just romantic and sexy enough for a fun break from the real world )
All of us Evanovich fans have this book. I have read it five times ane usually a year or two inbetween. It is one of a series of 11 short (250 pgs)
that are as alike as they are unique. They all have great women, independent or trying to be. You will get hooked. lol If you know someone who needs uplifting books, these are them. One of the trates Evanovich gives her female characters is perseverance, and a search for selfreliance. Beause she writes with so much super humor, these books are totally reaxing. Enjoy

Back to the bedroom was so much fun to read. It was one of those books that made you sad to reach the end. The storyline was quirky, and hysterical funny at many points. I found myself being embarrassed because I was laughing so hard. I know people thought I was crazy.

David and Kate's relationship was fun, romantic, silly. From the pod crashing through the roof, to the parents' dinner, trash can accident, and car chase. Throw Elise into the mix, and the moments of laughter don't quit.

If you need something to lift your spirits, or just want to relax and enjoy, this is the book for you.
I am a follower of J. Evanovich novels ever since the Stephanie Plum series. I decided to read other novels after reading 22 of her novels in a short period of time. I felt the humorous side of those novels could not be replicated but I've found myself wrong in so many ways. This novel should be a movie. The chapter with the visiting parents of Kate's and the cops using the house as steakout for a drug bust going on across the street. With all hell break all around them had me laughing in the middle of the night to myself. Janet humour continue to flop on to the pages of her other novels as in Big girls panties, Love Overboard I'm picking up move novels of hers.
I love Janet Evanovich. Everything she writes is delightful and entertaining. This story is so engaging. David is such a great guy. His playful personality is delightful. He is perfect for Kate, who needs some playtime. Together, they make a fun couple; opposites, but perfect for each other. A great read. Definitely another Evanovich winner.
I love Janet Evanovich!! I have been reading her Stephanie Plum series for years. Before there was Stephanie Plum there were several little romances including this one. This story was funny and entertaining, about a woman who meets a man who she think could never be a good husband. Several days later, with a broken leg, drug manufacturers/dealers across the street and four black kittens, she realizes he is everything she needs!
There is a duplex Victorian house in the middle of a block of otherwise stark, Federal style buildings. On one side is Dave, a cute, artistic, free-wheeling bachelor, living on lottery winnings. On the other side is Kate, a striking, fast-moving, genius cellist, trying to keep going after a divorce. The story starts with an object falling from the sky, crashing through the roof of Kate's side of the house, and landing in her bed. Thank Goodness she wasn't in it! He tries to cover the hole as repair people aren't usually available on weekends, but rain soaks her bed. He invites her to stay temporarily with him, while repairs are made and they try to find out what happened. Complicating things are people invading the property, apparently looking for something and even entering the house. Also Elsie Hawkins, a run-away from living in an old folks' home, arrives in answer to Kate's advertisement for a room to rent. The writing is well done, good interactions between characters, and some very funny scenes.
